First Grade Skills List
· Write first and last name using correct capitalization
· Letter recognition and corresponding sounds for each letter
· Recognition of basic sight words (I, to the, me, am etc.)
· Recognize words, and phonetically sound out words
· Recognize numbers 1-25, and count 1-100
· Ability to sound out words with short vowel sounds
· Understand the concepts of addition and subtraction
· Listen to and follow two step directions
· Work independently for period of time
· Know how to tie their shoes
Summer Reading: 15 minutes of sustained reading per day.
