7^th & 8^th Grade Supply List

Required Supplies

• Book bag – sturdy and large (not rolling kind)
• Student planner (weekly kind that also shows the full month)
• Book covers (cloth - 2 regular, 3 jumbo)
• Binder –2-2 ½” three ring - zipper, Velcro, or regular - only one (don’t buy A&B-day binders!)
• 8-tab set of dividers
• Folder – a sturdy plastic folder to hold ½ pack of notebook paper (will keep in book bag)
• Graph paper – 1 pack (not pad) of loose leaf 4x4 quadrille ruled, 4squares per inch                        
• Composition book – 2 b&w marbled kind (not spiral bound), wide ruled, any cover style (1 for English, 1 for math)
• Notebook paper – 6 packs of loose-leaf, wide-ruled paper (clip ½ pack in binder rings, put the other ½ pack in the plastic folder that stays in book bag, keep 2 packs at home, and

* bring 3 packs to homeroom teacher to be distributed at the start of quarter2, 3, and 4.)

• Pencils – several mechanical or #2 regular for home and school
• Lead – lots of extra lead for home and school
• Erasers – twist, click, or regular
• Red pens – several regular ballpoint pens with caps (no roller ball, gel, or felt tip markers like Sharpies)
• Blue pens – regular ballpoint pens
• Highlighters – 2 - 5 colors maximum
• Colored pencils – 24
• Hand held pencil sharpener (the kind that holds the shavings – will use for colored pencils)
• Dry erase markers –  4-pack (any colors) low odor, wide tip, not thin tip Expo brand only, please (*bring dry erase markers to homeroom teacher)
• Reinforcements (to put around the holes in binder papers when they tear)
• Calculator –Algebra I students need to purchase a TI–84 or TI-83 Graphics Calculator for use at home.  This is the same one they will use when they take geometry in high school.

                                -pre-algebra students need to purchase a scientific calculator (TI-30xa)

• Tissues –Kleenex brand without lotion (2 large, family size boxes)(*bring Kleenex to homeroom teacher)
• Dictionary
• Thesaurus
• Bible – NIV with concordance
• Band students need a QT3 Quartz Metronome (can be purchased at Smith Whitley in High Point)
• Art students need a 70 page spiral sketchbook

Optional Supplies

• Pencil Pouches (to hold pencils, lead, red pens and another for colored pencils / markers)
• Flags (optional – great for marking pages in books)
• Index cards (use to make Q&A cards or word & def. cards to help with quiz/test prep in many subjects)
• Clear contact paper for soft cover workbooks
• Scissors (will have a school set available to use)
• Glue stick (will have a school set available to use)
• Locker items (magnets, etc.) (No tape or other adhesive items)
• Lunchbox
• Bottle of water (clear with lid – no cups with straws)
• Healthy snack (individual portion)
• PE uniform bag (with deodorant and a washcloth)
